Owen & Lauren Mitchell

Owen and Lauren Mitchell have been privileged to invest in thousands of married couples and love what they do. They started in 1998 teaching marriage classes locally and for the past 21 years have led 240 plus marriage weekends in 29 states. They know everyone has a story so they teach, equip, support, and encourage couples to make their story the best it can be. From Eustis, Florida, the Mitchells attend Orange Avenue Church of Christ. They are partial to home but love to hike and snorkel through God’s creation. They love Jesus, each other, and family, and are parents of two married children and grandparents to two fun, active sweet, smart, busy grandsons

 

2. BURN The Compelling Communicator

Thanks to the support of Pepperdine University and the Lilly Endowment, we are hosting the Compelling Communicators Seminar on Monday, January 5th, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Ina Road Church of Christ in Tucson, AZ. Youth ministers and aspiring young preachers are specially invited to join me and some top preaching coaches for a day of encouragement and equipping… and we’ll even buy your lunch!

I can’t wait to share with you the results of a national survey conducted last year in which we asked teens and adults to open up about what elements make for effective preaching of God’s Word. But this isn’t just a download of data: In the interactive portion of the day, you will get some personal coaching in small groups from some effective and experienced nationally-known presenters.

Participants should come prepared to present a five-minute segment from a sermon or devotional lesson. It should be something shared before so you can be ready to stand and deliver the message! And we will send you home with two great books to further your studies and presentation skills.
